May 5th 2006 I was struck by a Suicide Borne Vehicle Improvise Explosive Device(SBVIED) while escorting the governor of Al-unbar Providence to work that early afternoon. The mission was routine and suppose to last only a few minutes getting from the governors complex to the Gov center where he worked. It has been over 6 years since the explosion and guest what? I still have shrapnel in my femur(leg) and possibly my forearm as well.
